  Carmelo Anthony

In 2006, Carmelo averaged 26.5 points and 5 rebounds a game in his 3rd season with the Denver Nuggets. He shot a career high 49% from the field, 81% from the free-throw line, and finished 8th in the NBA in scoring, the highest mark for a Nuggets player in nearly 15 years. In March, he was named Western Conference Player of the Month, the first Nugget to receive this honor in nearly 20 years. He was also selected as a member of the 2006-2008 USA Men’s Senior Basketball Team.

In his first year in the NBA, Anthony set Nuggets rookie records for points, scoring average, and field goals made, while leading all NBA rookies in scoring. In Carmelo’s second season he averaged 21 points and 6 rebounds per game. In 2004, Carmelo was also selected to participate in the Olympic Games as a member of the USA Basketball Team.

Before coming to the NBA, Carmelo led Syracuse to a 30-5 record and its first National Championship in basketball. He was named MVP for the 2003 Final Four and East Regional and was selected as the Consensus national Freshman of the Year in college basketball.
